First few days at home

We had a busy week last week after Mom and Foster came home from the hospital with a lot of family and friends stopping by to meet the little guy!

This is Kisa - she is my good buddy Asher's mom. She is also the one responsible for him being born at the hospital instead of at home or in the car. Mom called her right away when her contractions started and she came over in the middle of the night until GG could make it down. Thank goodness for Kisa otherwise Dad would've had to deliver our little brother, and who knows what kind of emotional scars that would've left!

Foster's first sponge bath - he was not a fan, but man was he cute in his shark towel

We like to think of him as our own personal lovey

One week after Foster was born was our Great Grandpa Chuck's 92nd birthday, so we had them over for lunch and baked the only cake Dad knows how to make - a chocolate malt cake

Happy 92nd birthday, Charles!

Dad and Chuck also celebrated with a glass of scotch

Then Mimi got into town earlier this week! We haven't seen Mimi for a long time, so we were super excited.

Our first few days with Mimi here were just spent playing around the house, at the park and going to the library. Oh, we also hit up the zoo, so I guess you could say we've stayed pretty busy. Another highlight was the makeshift water slide we made in the backyard.

Funny how kids always lay on the cement to warm up :)

Another highlight: a birdseed craft (that was all Dad's idea!). You cover pinecones with peanut butter and then load them up with birdseed and ...

Voila! Pinecone bird feeders!

Now we'll just have to figure out how to keep the squirrels from eating them.

Meanwhile, if you're looking for the little guy, he's most likely doing this:

Gotta love a sleeping baby
