Nebraska Trip

We had a busy February/early March so far! Two trips, one to Nebraska and one to the mountains, 5 birthdays celebrated (yes, 5)... so we've got some catching up to do.

First stop, our Nebraska trip. We hit up downtown Omaha upon arrival to have lunch at Upstream Brewery where it all began for the Kroll Family 17 years ago.

Then to the infamous slides in downtown Omaha. Mom remembers going down these as a kid, but she failed to mention that depending on the fabric of your pants and the trajectory of your body, you can easily fly off these things at mach 90. There were some screams of joy, and also pure terror.

Dinner with some of Mom's oldest friends and all their kiddos

And then onto the Henry Doorly Zoo to meet the cousins

The rest of our time in Nebraska was pretty low key, which was nice.
We did some park playing..

Played A LOT of games. Our faves being Oh Snap!, Blokes and the weird one with the plastic things you put in your mouth (pictured below with Mimi and Grandpa).

And what trip with Aunt Gabe would be complete without her infamous chalk drawings. Her BB8 might be my fave so far.

And some trampoline jumping - Mom smartly sat this one out to avoid two things, 1) peeing her pants, and 2) a massive headache

We had so much fun with our Nebraska family. Now the only question is when are they moving back to Colorado?!

Our Maida Mae turns 6

Flashback to this little stinker on her 2nd birthday - man, was she cute or what?!

Maida, of course, woke bright and early on her 6th Birthday to balloons and donuts

Opened a couple presents before school..

...and got her big present after school.

Lord help anyone in her way in the alley.

And where else did we go, but Benihana for dinner, of course!

Happy 6th Birthday, Maida Mae. Life just wouldn't be the same without you ;)

Christmas Morning and beyond...

Roller shoes, a new bike, the Wizard of Oz...we got it all

Later in the day, Graham, Celie and their family came over for Christmas dinner, and Graham got a hold of the selfie stick Mom got as a gift (and yes, I stayed in my pajamas all day).

Then later that week, we went to see Finding Neverland with Mom and GG (Fossie was still sick, so he and Dad stayed home).

And we rang in 2017 with some good friends ... cheers to a great year

Christmas Season overview

We had a fun-filled December with a lot going on - here's the overview:

1. First up, our annual tradition of Brunch with Santa at the Brown Palace - Dad was out of town at a basketball game (whaaaaat?), so he missed the fun.

2. Maida, Fossie and I got turned into a work of art

3. Celebrated Grandpa D's 70th Birthday at the Avs game

4. Cookie baking marathon at Aunt Sara's

5. Georgetown train with Santa

6. Harper lost her 6th tooth of the year on Christmas Eve and Maida won an award for being the best Pooper Scooper.

7. Posed with Wrigs in front of the tree on Christmas Eve

More Fun in the Sun

Seeing as how we've been freezing our cabooses off here in Denver, we figured we would reminisce about the rest of our trip in Mexico.

On our third day we took a day trip to an island called Las Caleta where you can zip line, snorkel and boogie board - all of which we had a blast doing,

Donkey rides to the top of the zip line

They performed some 90s ballads on the boat ride back, and Foster was the hit of the show.

This walkway was right by where we stayed and Mom thought it was awesome. Mom and Dad also got to enjoy a nice dinner out while we relaxed with GG and D.

More sea turtles!

Alas, it had to come to an end at some point, and luckily we had an amazing sunset our last night.

Adios for now!
