Sunny San Diego

Well we made it to San Diego last week in one piece and got our vacation started!

The first day we headed up to La Jolla and visited the Birch Aquarium on the campus of the University of Cali at San Diego - which I have to say, is beautiful and is making me rethink this Denver University thing.

They have an outdoor tide pool that we headed to first, where you could see starfish, sea cucumbers and various other marine life that would live in real tide pools.

They even took a sea cucumber out for us to touch. It felt like mushy rubber.

One of only three family photos we got on the whole vacation (also a photo of baby brother at 26 weeks - he's getting pretty big!)

Then we went inside to check out the bigger fish

We were going to watch them do the shark feeding, but we got restless and decided we wanted to play instead.

View from outside the Aquarium - not too bad!

After the aquarium, we grabbed some lunch and headed to the resort where we'd be staying. Our room wasn't quite ready, so we just wandered around for a bit and enjoyed the sunshine.

We finally got into our room and hit up the great kid's pool. Despite the somewhat moderate temps, Maida was in heaven.

The next day was Legoland, and we'll need a whole new post for that one, so stay tuned!
