Holiday Happening
December was probably the busiest month we've had in this household in a long time.
Just today, Maida is home recovering from having a tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy. Mom and Dad (and the docs) said she was such a champ... I think she surprised all of us by how calm and collected she was about the whole thing. I'm pretty sure Mom thought she would need to be sedated before even walking into the surgery center. But the girl barely shed a tear, and I'm so proud of her.
She even got to go up a night early (the surgery was in Fort Collins) and stay in a hotel and go swimming, so NOT fair (but in reality, more than fair!). The hope is now that Maida will be able to breath better at night and actually get a good night's sleep for the first time in her nearly 5 years on this Earth ... and the rest of us will be able to sleep, as well :)
I, being the unbelievable big sister that I am, got Maida a bed ready on the couch when she got home and put together a tray for her with all the necessities (including Pokemon cards, of course).
Never mind the fact the I misspelled her name?!?
Now back to the Christmas countdown, which included classroom parties that with lots of sugar, some reindeer and bells.
(Look really close, Maida is hiding in the back!)
Then we celebrated D's birthday
And baked some cookies with GG
This was a daily occurrence.. Foster wanting to play in the snow in his Thomas rain jacket and converse sneakers.
Next up, the newest member of the family... this little (or not-so-little) guy that joined our family a couple weeks ago..welcome Wrigley Charlie Kroll, weighing in at 14 lbs. (likely 15 by now). He's a total mutt, but we're pretty sure Dad was a Great Pyrenees (which = huge dog). He's so dang cute, but wish us luck! This is our first photo after picking him up a couple weeks ago, and as you can see, Aunt Sara and Uncle Jed took the plunge and adopted one of Wrigley's littermate's, too (Daisy Bell).
Maida continues to be our dog whisperer, just as she was with Sadie :)
And lastly, a beautiful snow angel courtesy of Maida to close things out for the night :)
Christmas photos to come...don't worry!
