He has arrived...

Our new baby brother arrived in the wee hours of the morning on Sunday while we were still fast asleep. Turns out he just needed an extra 8 days to cook! And I'm now convinced of my psychic abilities, because I told Maida before bed that night that GG would be here in the morning (because he was coming). Turns out I was right!

From the sound of it, when he made up his mind he was ready to get the show on the road, there was no messing around. Mom's contractions started hard and fast at 12:30am and he was born at 2:54am.

Here's their first picture together

Then he got all cleaned up, thank goodness

Dad's first photos with the "dude" as he likes to call him

GG made it to the hospital just in the nick of time

A healthy (and yet not overly large - thank goodness) 8 lbs, 0.9 oz

He comes from a long line of thumb suckers, so we're not surprised he almost mastered the technique right out of the womb.

Aunt Sara missed the big event but made it to the hospital shortly after

Few more pics from right after he was born...

Then later that morning, after we woke up and heard the news, Maida and I headed up to the hospital to meet our baby brother. It was my idea to wear our Easter dresses - might as well make a good first impression!

First photo as a family of FIVE!

Grandpa D was there, as well

A proud father of three

I'm pretty obsessed with this little guy already

Later in the day, Foster had more visitors - Aunt Gabe, Uncle Jace and our cousin Sayler came to say hi. Sayler is going to have a new baby sister in September, so I think Aunt Gabe was excited to test the waters with Foster. Turns out Sayler was veeeeerrry leery of this little squirmy person and didn't want much to do with him. I'm sure she'll feel differently when she meets her little sister!

Mom's friend Lisa meeting the Fos-man

Angie and Brett came, as well (Celie and Graham are visiting family in Nebraska, so I can't wait for them to get back and meet him, too!)

The next day we visited Mom again before she came home that night, and Maida mastered her binky skills fairly quickly

Ready to go home ... let the fun begin!

Many more pics to come from our first days at home....
