Winter Festival weekend
It is finally time to kickoff the holiday season, kids...and it finally feels like winter around here.
Friday night we headed over to the town square with some friends to see them light the tree...as you can see, Foster was thrilled.
But we had cookies, so we were happy (Asher especially)
You can't tell from the picture, but this was a dancing and singing Tree, and I was mesmerized, if not slightly scared.
Time to roast marshmallows
and eat S'mores
They even had some of Santa's reindeer there. What I couldn't figure out is why they didn't just fly out of the cage...?
Check out Maida and Dad's matching mustaches
Then Saturday was the Star Lighting down in Castle Rock. It was pretty cold, so Foster and Dad sat this one out at home (I'm pretty sure that was so Dad could watch the Huskers game).
These are literally the only pictures we got while we were there (except for the one we had taken with Santa) because it was so cold ... we were just trying to survive until 5:30 to see the Star Lighting and fireworks.
No surprise Maida loved this slide
D and I took a break from our football game to take a picture and listen to the carolers.
Here I am in my "hut hut" position
We ended up going into a restaurant and ordered an early dinner, then GG took us back out to watch the fireworks. Turns out Mom was the wuss, we didn't mind the cold at all!
